"Post & Telegraph Building" was an amazing monument created at early 20th century by King of Iran Reza Shah Pahlavi. It was at the southern part of the most famous square of Tehran the Toupkhane Square. A huge statue of Reza Shah was exactly in front of this building.
Unfortunately the Post & Telegraph building was ruined at 50's and a nasty tall building was replaced by it.. I'm one of those olden Tehran lovers we may call them "drowned in nostalgia". I even see this building in my dreams so I decided to survive something that however doesn't exist now but its glorious inspirations even rule the dreams of every olden Tehran lover...

Building creation Process:
Since I did this monument in my free time it took around 2 months to complete. Main problem came when there was no clear or colorful photo of this building. Even I didn't know the color of dome (that was so important to me and to form whole image).
One day I was at a street near to Toopkhane square to buy a bookcase for my books. Seller was a kind man in love with Nostalgia of this building such as me. He told me the color of dome was turquoise..and he also mentioned he's looking for every photo of this monument.
After him I asked many other people but everyone said something. I finally found some brilliant domes of olden Tehran with turquoise color in a 60's documentary "The Saba Wind". So I found that the dome color would be what the kind man told me at first...

This is not my only render but I'm going to put some nostalgic stories/drama happening in my mind at soul of renders. Of course I'm deeply impressed by the movies of great Iranian author director "Ali Hatami" who used to make the most glorious TV series "Hezardastan" about contemporary Tehran/Iran...
Did whole monument in 3ds Max and rendered it using the mysterious render engine Vray. At first I started to sculpt every stone but the scene became heavy & heavy gradually... Even now managing the scene with all these details is probably sucha massacre. Finally I wish you like it & every critique is quite welcome.
